Ben Liu
Ben is passionate about teaching as well as maths and physics. His mission is not only to help students to improve in exam performance, but also to guide them to enjoy the beauty of maths and physics.
Being a QCAA confirmer and external exam marker since 2020, Ben has ample experience and knowledge about the QCAA Mathematical Methods external exam. Writing practise exam questions is an excellent opportunity to help students not only in his school but also across Queensland to be better prepared for the external exams to come.
Judi Dau
Originally from Far North Queensland (Babinda), Judi Dau is a Mathematician and Mathematics Teacher with experience locally and internationally, having taught Maths in the Solomon Islands, Tonga, and the USA, before settling back in Queensland.
Judi’s qualifications include a B. Science (Maths); B. Arts (Psychology); B. Ed (Senior Secondary Maths) and a Grad Dip (Teaching and Learning). Judi worked for ten years at Harristown State High; she now teaches full time at Centenary Heights State High School in Toowoomba. She works for the QCAA in Assessor roles including Subject Matter Expert, Confirmer, and External Marker. Judi is also a Contributing Author for Jacaranda Wiley, writing, editing and consulting on the new titles for Essential Maths, General Maths, Mathematical Methods and Specialist Mathematics.
Judi believes access to high quality practice assessments form a crucial part of students’ preparation and success for achieving their full potential on exams, maximizing their options for potential future pathways.
Brian Amedee
Brian Amedee is a Head of Mathematics for Education Queensland, who is passionate to provide high quality assessment items for all high school students in Queensland.
During the learning period of COVID, Brian flipped his classroom and used the 3Blue1Brown animation engine to best explain the concepts of Mathematical Methods.
Brian believes that all students can have success in Mathematics with the correct preparation and differentiation using high quality formative and summative assessment items.
